Green Bean Casserole

  • 1/4 cup stick butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 3 cups sliced green beans
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup French-fried onion rings
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Boil green beans in chicken broth for 10 minutes and drain.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Saute the onions and mushrooms in the butter.
  4. In a bowl, create a mushroom soup from the cream of mushroom can. pour in cream of mushroom and then with the same can put in about 3/4 full of water and mix well in the bowl until the cream of mushroom has dissolved in the water creating mushroom soup.
  5. Add the green beans, mushroom soup, 1/3 cup onion rings, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, to the onion mixture. Adjust more salt, black pepper and garlic powder to taste. Stir well.
  6. Pour into a 8 inch square or round baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes, then top the casserole with the remaining onion rings and cheese and bake for 10 minutes longer, or until the casserole is hot and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve warm. Enjoy!
