[/recipe-ingredients] [recipe-directions]

  1. Put your pan or skillet on the stove and turn it up to high heat.
  2. Season your steak on both sides to preference. Majority of the time especially if you have a good cut of steak, just salt and pepper will do just fine.
  3. Onced seasoned, pour a good amount of oil on your steak. Alternatively you can also add oil on the hot pan.
  4. Once the pan is hot you can put in your steak. Depending on your preference, it can vary from 2 min to 8 min per side. If you prefer medium rare then it is usually about 2-4 min per side depending on the thickness however if you like yours well done then usually 6-8 min again depending on the thickness. A method to check if your steak is cooked to your liking is the touch test.
  5. Once cooked to your liking, Remove from hot pan and let it rest for 5-10 min. Enjoy!
